Meet the Team

Kelly & Sam Krivit-Owners

Fight for the Fittest was founded in 2020 by Sam and Kelly Krivit. It began as a small online event during the Covid19 shutdown and was created to give athletes a place to compete during a time when few were available. After the success of the online event, they decided to host an in-person event at their local gym. The first in-person event was held in the fall of 2020 at RXFit in Rocky Point, NY. Since then, Fight for the Fittest has expanded to host three events a year including an individual event, partner event, and team event. The events include anywhere from 120-160 competitors, an expansive vendor village, and over 200 spectators.

Sam and Kelly have been married since 2010. Sam began Crossfit in 2014 and Kelly in 2016. After finding a love for the sport, they both received their Level 1 certifications in 2018 and coached Crossfit classes part-time at RXFit in Rocky Point, NY. Sam is a neurosurgical PA and Kelly is a Special Education teacher. They live in New York with their two young children. They are not gym owners. All events are currently being hosted at MFLH Gym in Ronkonkoma, NY.
